Parks, green areas and outdoor activities
Opera!02 is immersed in a natural environment where there are truly many places and opportunities to relax, discover and engage in outdoor activities. The hillside at the foot of the Apennines between Modena and Bologna represents an area rich in different habitats and landscapes, where in the span of a few kilometers we pass from chestnut woods, typical of the mountains, to rows of poplars along the banks of rivers, characteristic images of the Po Valley. In between are patches of woods and thickets, fields and streams, crisscrossed by many routes to be traveled on foot or by bicycle, ideal for simple relaxing walks, as well as to please the most determined sportsmen.
Within a few dozen kilometers there are many regional natural parks where some unique wonders can be observed, such as the Sassi di Roccamalatina or the Salse di Nirano. And likewise, the agricultural landscape is obviously of extraordinary importance, with several farms open to visitors. Finally, for fans of the most diverse outdoor sports activities there are indeed many opportunities, including the nearby golf courses of the Modena Golf Country Club.
Roccamalatina Stones Park
The rock formations known as Sassi di Roccamalatina, are a unique element within the landscape of the early Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. The regional park that surrounds them represents an environment rich in verdant forests and ancient isolated villages, an ideal habitat for roe deer, birds of prey, foxes and badgers. There are also numerous trails for walking or biking, to spend pleasant hours in the rejuvenating relaxation of nature.
Salse di Nirano
A short distance from Opera|02, within the Salse di Nirano Nature Reserve in the municipality of Fiorano Modenese, it is possible to observe a curious geological phenomenon of extraordinary interest. Here, in fact, is one of the most significant examples in Italy of eruptive salse, with mud mixed with water and gas escaping from the soil through real small clay volcanoes. The reserve is also immersed in an unspoiled environment, where it is possible to go on long and relaxing walks in the green.
Park of the Abbey of Monteveglio
The Monteveglio Abbey Park is a large protected area surrounding the historic site of the same name in the hills of Bologna. Here woods and slopes frame an unspoiled nature rich in animal and plant species. There are numerous itineraries that can be traveled on foot or by bicycle, also passing through vineyards and ancient villages.
Educational farm G. Raffa
Right next to Opera|02, there is the G. Raffa Educational Farm, the ideal place for young children to discover the wonders and curiosities of nature. Here it is possible to observe and learn about the many animals that live in the barn, courtyard or pond, play outdoors and participate in the many workshops and activities offered.
Modena golf country club
For all golf enthusiasts, a short distance from Opera|02 rise the courses of the Modena Golf Country Club. Within a parkland setting of more than one hundred hectares is a nine-hole course that is among the most popular in Italy for amateurs and professionals alike. At the clubhouse, inside an old country residence, all services, bar and wellness area are available to members and guests.
Cycling
Opera|02 is the ideal place from which to explore the area by bicycle. In fact, the hill is full of routes that can satisfy all tastes, from the simplest and most relaxing itineraries to the most challenging ones, perfect for the most determined sportsmen. It thus becomes possible to also discover unique glimpses of the surrounding landscape, living an experience of pure well-being and pleasure.
